When its better to, just scan it

A local company who convert vehicles from petrol to electric asked us to replicate some engine components in CAD this week.

They were designing new systems and integrating them with existing parts and were looking for a quick and easy way of populating their assemblies.

Great opportunity to highlight Redfox’s 3D laser scanning service, we were able to scan the components they had no CAD for and return solid models for integration into their assemblies. This gave them the confidence to work on their new systems in the knowledge that when they came to fit the new parts there would be no clash.

Good use of the scanner, no point in spending my days building up a feature heavy model to drain their systems when not necessary.
